Sermon: Evergreen/ Text: John 15:1-5/ Preaching Date: 10/5/09, Easter 5 (Year B)/ Location: St Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Katanning, Western Australia
Focus: We prune our gardens to make them better, to look better, and to produce better. God pruned Israel very harshly! He pruned it to one and then even placed him on the dead wood of the cross. But from the stump of Jesse Israel was reborn at Easter, the day of the resurrection! And now we are grafted into the new vine of Israel. And in this Christ vine God continues to prune us so that we are acceptable to him in Christ. Grace Mercy & Peace. Friarpuk

Focus: Jesus is the Lamb of God, sent to be the atoning sacrifice for our sin.
