Sermon: Evergreen/ Text: John 15:1-5/ Preaching Date: 10/5/09, Easter 5 (Year B)/ Location: St Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Katanning, Western Australia
Focus: We prune our gardens to make them better, to look better, and to produce better. God pruned Israel very harshly! He pruned it to one and then even placed him on the dead wood of the cross. But from the stump of Jesse Israel was reborn at Easter, the day of the resurrection! And now we are grafted into the new vine of Israel. And in this Christ vine God continues to prune us so that we are acceptable to him in Christ. Grace Mercy & Peace. Friarpuk

Sermon: Shepherd of the Sheep/ Text: John 10:11-18/ Preaching Date: 3/5/09, Easter 4 Good Shepherd Sunday (Year B)/ Location: Trinity Lutheran Church, Narrogin, Western Australia
Focus: Jesus is the Lamb of God, sent to be the atoning sacrifice for our sin. Yet in knowing our human condition and living in it without sin, he is truly our Good Shepherd since he died for his sheep, and now leads us towards the reality of eternity having been raised in power over death and the devil. Sermon: True Hope/ Text: 1 John 3:1-7/ Preaching Date: 26/4/09, Easter 3 (Year B)/ Location: Trinity Lutheran Church, Narrogin, Western Australia
Focus: When we say, “I hope something happens” what are we really saying? Are our hope statements more about our lack of hope or hopelessness than our trust, patience, and eager expectation of good happening? This sermon is about being unashamed and confident in the hope into which God has placed us! Grace Mercy & Peace. Friarpuk

Sermon: Passive Power/ Text: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11/ Preaching Date: 12/4/09, Easter - Resurrection of our Lord(Year B)/ Location: St Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Katanning, Western Australia
Focus: When we are dead we have no power. To have power is to be alive and in control. Yet the power of God is demonstrated in death. Jesus had no power when he lay in the grave, but God raised him from the dead. Jesus was passive in his death and resurrection and still he is all powerful. Our power comes from God in our passive adherence to the faith he give us. Grace Mercy & Peace. Friarpuk
